All of the pieces (the outer shell, speaker, buttons, boards, etc.) are laid out around the device's motherboard, which has its screen plugged in. The screen is on, showing a Zelda clock face that reads 4:01 PM on Friday, 12/31, with an alarm set for 7 AM. It's receiving power from an iFixit FixHub Power Station in the background.
