    Ist Metformin mehr als nur ein Mittel gegen Diabetes Typ 2? 🤔

    Metformin wird seit den 1950er Jahren zur Behandlung von Typ-2-Diabetes eingesetzt.

    Es senkt den Blutzucker, indem es die Glucoseproduktion in der Leber hemmt, die Insulinempfindlichkeit verbessert und die Zuckeraufnahme im Darm reduziert.

    Neben Diabetes wird es auch bei PCOS eingesetzt und könnte sogar in der Krebs- und Alternsforschung eine Rolle spielen.
