Here’s hoping this message is easier to get across given Tesla is just one company and Elon Musk is cartoon villain levels of evil.

I can’t say I’ve had luck getting folks to understand this for Big Tech in the last decade. Maybe we wouldn’t be here if we had made Big Tech socially unacceptable.

But, instead, it was “I know lots of good people who work there” and “you’re overreacting”. In the end, folks (in the web community, at least) decided that rocking the boat wasn’t in their own best interests and that it was easier to attempt to make those criticising a toxic system socially outcasts instead of those perpetuating it for profit.

Maybe it’ll be different now that we can all see the boat is sinking. I won’t hold my breath but I’ll also hold my breath, if you know what I mean. Because I wouldn’t put it past them to continue to simply rearrange the deck chairs. https://hachyderm.io/@inthehands/114111304532776871

How do we reduce demand? - Make the Tesla brand SOCIALLY TOXIC: shameful, embarrassing, cringy, un-sexy, nauseating. Buying one should •feel bad•. Make people a little sick to their stomach when they come in for that test drive. 4/
