So for the most part, your experience with whatever is going on is very much contained to your immediate environment. This really is many countries in one. Or feels like it.

Things are starting to feel weird because at the federal level horrible things like trans people gender marker stuff is being messed with, but I also remind myself that this country hasn’t been able to get even 20% of the population to switch over to ‘mandatory real IDs’ for the last 25 years they’ve been trying.

So I’m hopeful that the slow grind of bureaucracy will take an even longer time for the most harmful of things.
