Perhaps the computer industry killed RadioShack, or perhaps sail foams... I personally think it was the tinkerer and the fixer of things getting old, while the next generation had zero desire to take an existing thing and improve or repair that thing. You now live in a disposable world where one just buys a new thing and throws away the old thing.
