    OP is quite correct in their understanding that the glans of the clitoris has 10,000 nerve endings. The 8,000 nerve endings figure is a myth based on cow clitorises (more on this here: https://masto.ai/@vagina_museum/109478463013137768)

      It's an often-repeated factoid that the human clitoris has 8,000 nerve endings. This comes from 1970s research looking at cow clitorises. In fact, it turns out there are over 10,000 nerve fibres in the clitoris! Let's take a quick look at new research from Blair Peters and colleagues, presented in November 2022.
