Maine Governor Janet Mills here with an important update.

On Friday at a bipartisan meeting of governors, Donald Trump threatened to deny Maine school children federal funding unless we fall in line with his personal demands.

𝗛𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 "𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘄,”
𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀.

𝗜 𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝗺 𝘄𝗲’𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗺 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁.

I was raised to be brave and to fight for what’s right.
No matter the obstacles, I will always fight for the people of Maine.

Our future right now is threatened by a wannabe strongman in the White House who is playing games with federal funding.

We will not be bullied.

But our state is the frontline in the fight for democracy.
