For any given metaphorical rabbit hole:
- Let the “apeture diameter” be how big the hole looks on the surface, i.e. how simple the problem appears.
- Let the “depth” be how deep into the bowels of the earth the hole goes, i.e. how complex the problem becomes when you investigate or gain expertise.
I’m hard pressed to think of a rabbit hole with a larger depth-to-apeture-diameter ratio than color.
