You may know DC is not a state. We pay taxes but don't have a voting member in either the House or the Senate. We have what is called "Home Rule." It allows us to elect local government and to have local laws. The Republicans have introduced a bill that would eliminate Home Rule. If you live in the district please follow the FREE DC Project.
