This just addresses domestic egg production, but if the virus that circulates in the wild is a form that can infect humans over distances then the implication is that anyone going out of a filtered environment will have to wear a mask (including eye coverage if ocular infection is possible). That's an extraordinary escalation of impact and we know huge numbers of Americans won't do that.

Also, it means devastation of susceptible wild birds as well.
