@sleepfreeparent Signal came out of Moxie's Open Whisper Systems which received its funding from the Open Technology Fund. OTF came from Radio Free Asia, very well known CIA front.

This is not in dispute by anyone and has been covered by multiple journalists over the years, only that we are supposed to trust that RFA was severed from the CIA when they launched the OTF. It just doesn't get any traction with the infosec community because they worship Signal.
