Infoseepage@bassjobsen @whn @locuta We made about 148 million total doses of flu vaccine for the USD this year. Really questionable whether existing non-mRNA tech would get us to the number of doses needed for the higher demand a high consequence H5N1 pandemic would create. In addition, most of the existing stockpiled vaccines have required two doses to get adequate immune response. We need mRNA, not just for volume, but also for timely manufacturing.
