In preparation of living and working here in Japan, I did a bit of arts and crafts this morning. I got a cheapo pocket photo frame keychain from daiso. I then printed out some relevant QR codes for comms apps that are popular. LINE is very common over in Japan. My folks and friends also like Whatsapp so that's on the other side of the keychain. The idea is if I meet someone and they want to be pals (or they are just people who need to get in touch sometimes) I can show them the QR code and then they can scan it with their smartphone. We can then become pals on those apps. I blacked out the QR codes before uploading here because I don't want to doxx myself on the internet.

Before anyone gets angry at me for using these low tier, low/no privacy comms apps, I can't get everyone around me to use briar, signal, delta chat, etc. Though I can effectively get them to communicate using delta chat by giving them the email address I use for that.
