It's interesting that the word used in these attempts at progressive policy was NOT "equality" -- equity isn't the same thing as equality. Equity about impartiality.

Equality can seem like an unrealistic goal. Equity is a bare minimum to strive to act without prejudice. Without *pre* justice, not without judgement.

Equity will not correct the harms of the past, but it asks merely that no new harms are done.
