My wife actually claims it's my own ability to communicate, to drive matters towards resolution, and to otherwise be judicious that caused our marriage to be successful. Otherwise, she says she would have turned out a very different person. I don't know if that's the case, but someone has to be a guiding force, including teaching the other how to guide when necessary. No one is perfect, and we each need each other's help at times.
