Sigma ζ (she/her)I said it before, and I'll say it again: hummingbirds are native to the Americas, and as far as I know, there are no species that are indigenous to Asia, Europe, or Africa. When writing from the perspective of a person that has never been to the Americas, the simile, "like a hummingbird" is unlikely to come readily to mind for them unless they are fond of reading ornithographical literature.
