I've been using it from the CLI and via app extensions for over a decade, and I don't trust myself to get the incantations right. always checking bash history or every GUI toggle to make sure things are right. Signal by comparison just works assuming we input contact details correctly and scanned the fingerprint QR codes. I would call myself something close to an expert and gpg makes me nervous as frick
