McNadoMDFYI — as a former grad student during the time when Bush slaughtered science funding, lemme tell you that right now a whole lot of people working on PhD research (the kind that becomes the next cure for cancer or weight loss drug or antibiotic) are deciding whether or not to leave years of study behind to find another job. See, when federal science funding pauses, labs don’t get grants, and when labs don’t get grants, the people making ~$25k/yr working 14 hr days lose their jobs.
