This is what I call 'matter-hoarding', and ignores the suffering of everyone for the next 9,000 years and gives yourself a get-out-of-responsibility-free card to everything within the sphere of your influence that could have consequences on that timescale.

But why stop there??? Why not care about the children 20,000 years from now? Compare to them, the 10,000 years children could be small in number. You don't even know.
