@AlSweigart It sort of reminds me of one of the things that really freaked me out watching an old show where it wasn't even intended to be a bad or scary thing.

They could arrest someone solely for "having no visible means of support."

I don't know if that's still a thing. I haven't heard of it in anything remotely recent, but I can absolutely see this sort of line of thinking coming back.
