I respect properly fearing the future and showing what could happen, however presenting the future as the present with something false never helps anyone. I'm not discounting healthy fear and understanding, but rather the showcase of blatantly impractical or disingenuous information. This is what leads to people ignoring valid concerns, when Microsoft can come out of the corner and say "no this isn't happening to users" and they're almost entirely right because this isn't a common feature yet. You gotta present information correctly the first time around, not everyone sticks around to see the discussions, or they'll pop out after seeing a correction and assume that's the end of it. The only people this ends up sticking with when presented as is are those who already hate Microsoft and either use Linux or were already planning on switching to Linux.
Maybe I'm thinking too hard, but this is always a problem I have with discussions about "WIndows bad." A discussion of the hypothetical future rather than the present, even when directly asked about the present.
