I beg users of the fediverse to comprehend that Mastodon and most of the other fedi platforms are not remotely similar at all to Facebook, and that fedi subsequently can’t end up replacing FB for people because it doesn’t do the same thing.
Easy example, if a user FB never liked twitter and that style of microblogging, why do you think they’d want to be here?
And I’ll keep saying: fedi doesn’t have a good replacement for groups on Facebook. That’s probably the main reason I stay on there. A lot of Fedi completely ignores how helpful of a resource some FB groups can be.
You’re not going to get people off there until you provide a replacement platform that “scratches the same itch” essentially.
Do you actually want people to leave Meta, or do you just want to feel smug and superior for being on fedi?
