Hanks' character has a 'Problem' (getting stranded on an island) and then after his ordeal just smiles and walks away when he finds out his woman dumped him and moved on. Gump is similar, too. He continuously gets shit on by Jenny, who is out whooping it up, and he just tard grins and takes it. Both of those movies are "Just accept getting the shaft and be happy about it" messages.
