I genuinely do not get the ideology of the free software movement's extremists tbh.
Being mindful of the software you use is one thing and is very understandable. Limiting yourself to things that doesn't always do the appropriate job and constantly inconveniencing yourself, simply for the movement, is not "freedom" in any sort of sense to me, I'm sorry. Even if it's technically "freedom" from Big Bad Companies, you're trading one brand of torture for another.
