As a proud #Fedizen, so many thoughts today.

#FreeYourFeeds is weird to me. Why bother? @mastodon, @pixelfed, @loops...they already exist. The billionaire-free #Fediverse is already here. Besides, the ATprotocol is ultimately backed by VC money anyways, so it's part of the problem.

I also get a kick out of these services being called "competitors" of X, Instagram, etc., implying there's some race to be won or market to be captured. Everything has to be framed in capitalist terms.
