I'm back at the aid camp. I ran into one of the Spencer Construction crews, the wall contractors, doing some finish welding work on some of the floodgates.
I got a bunch of great photos, but mostly on my big camera which I'll have to process later. They are a husband and wife welding team who met working on the border fence out by Yuma Arizona. She has been working on it in some form or another for many years.
This is something a lot of people don't realize. Major fortifications were started under Clinton and just kept going. Huge amounts of shorter versions of the border fence were built by the Obama administration. In some places the new border fence was built further inside the U.S., creating a weird no-one's land. In other places, such as to the west of here, it was torn down. Much of it is piled up in a field you pass on the way in here.
