Rachel ThornIt's interesting that people who occasionally visit a place can often offer better advice to first-time visitors than can people who live there. I've lived in Kyoto a quarter century, but I haven't really "toured" Kyoto since, like the early 1990s? People who consciously "tour" Kyoto frequently, but don't live here, can give you much better advice than I can an how to have a pleasant stay here. Now if you're going to MOVE to Kyoto, I'm your girl.
