Linux Foundation launches Supporters of Chromium-Based Browsers initiative with backing from Google, Microsoft, Meta, and Opera

Did Chromium really need more support? :blobfoxdisapprove: I'm not sure I entirely understand the point of this. Chromium doesn't seem like it needs to foster more support since it's basically a de facto web monopoly sponsored by Google.

The Supporters of Chromium-Based Browsers initiative will operate as a neutral platform, enabling collaboration while maintaining the existing governance structures of Chromium projects.

So yeah, Google still has unilateral control over the codebase. It'd be one thing if this moved it into a new governance structure for Chromium that gives other members voting privileges, but obviously that would never happen.

I dunno, I'm confused. :neodog_googly_shocked:
