Here's my Facebook dilemma, with the caveat that I left for 3+ years, and why I returned:

I have two friends with cancer, and one with a child who just got contacted by Make A Wish. She's got months left.

All three of these people have limited capacity for individually keeping friends up to date and have chosen FB as their "one to many" solution for progress reports, help requests, etc.

Texting/email/calls doesn't work for them. I've asked. To leave FB is to abandon them.
