@iitalics I honestly don't like the term 'AI' because of how many kinds of 'AI' we've had for years under other names and use them just fine. It's the 'enshitification' and 'number go up' culture that turned what could be an amazing tool into another way to make money. If we kept modern LLM and similar AI to medical or other professional uses and kept it out of the public for a few more years I'd be quite happy.

That's not what is happening though. Instead I've seen the rise of the 'hustle culture' and such in the last ..well my entire life really. From the 80s of 'work hard keep working until you die' there was a slight lull in the 90s as things got slightly less crappy. Then the internet as we know it made the world a smaller place, and everyone that ran the services we used wanted to make money off it, either through us or our data. This is just a modern version of 80s 'yuppie' BS with 'new 'crap sprinkled in. Not really new, just louder now with a more connected world.
