stuff like "you can disable blood tokens with Pithing Needle because there was a card printed in 2013 that was called 'Flesh and Blood', but that name actually refers to two separate game objects called 'Flesh' and 'Blood', so you can name just the half of that card that shares its name with the token" is probably bad for the game overall but it's the kind of thing that i personally want more of, y'know? part of the draw of magic to me is that they've made so many cards over the past 30 years that of course there are bizzare, arcane interactions like that. it lends a sense of mysticism to the game, and makes its best players seem more like wizards
