Women behave badly too. They use different ways of making life miserable. Men tend to be physical, women use emotional means. They are not comparable in the context of physical safety.
I've worked with and for men and women, and both can be vile, but in different ways. Thankfully I've never worked with or for a violent or abusive man, but I have worked with countless women who've abused their position of power by emotional manipulation. I suspect this is because many women abuse their power by interpreting it as needing to be more like the worst of men instead of being the best of women.
Women have far more to fear from men than men will from women, which is why we need single sex spaces.
