Imagine if you are born, designer baby dna up, upgraded and teched by a ship mind. You spend your entire life on it, dependent on it, you speak a language designed by it, taught by it, it can respond to you at any nano second of any day either by voice or thought.

Any action by you has no consequence. you can randomly pick up a heavy vase smash it on another guys face and a "field" will be generated to stop you at the speed of light. You can jump off a cliff in the ships many hulls and a drone with break the sound barrier saving you. You can blast your head clean off with a gun and wake up the month with it questioning why did you kill yourself.

There are zero laws in the entire civilization. The 2 worst punishments for bad behavior is exile or slapdroned. A drone will follow you around at all times preventing you from doing anything the ship dont want you to.

You can "choose" do practise actual degeneracy and not work a day in your life. Hungry? Not happy? stims and drugs. You can change your species if you really want to. Dont like the way things are? You can protest at a rally. Or leave. You cant really change things either way.

Oh but the good ship minds with the extremely well cared crews will never ever look inside your little meat brain and manipulate how you think and feel. This includes the sentient drones. Somehow they actually all have jobs which they REALLY find extremely fufilling and happy to do.
