In pre-colonian times, and something #China won't admit, when they closed their doors to the world they only kept one open: "Luzon Empire".
The trade system of Luzon Empire back then was any traders will leave their goods to the locals, and the locals will trade it everywhere (similar in a way to consignment today). The locals will try to find the goods the traders want, if not, other modes of payment will be provided.
If China offers the same today for the #Philippines , I wonder if my fellow #Filipino people and the government will take it?
Imagine, no one can ever trade with China's goods. They all have to trade with the Philippines, because the country is the one source. Filipinos will set the price as well, an easy guarantee we'll get a fair share of the sales.
And maybe, China offers #Taiwan permanent peace and without assimilation, provided they agree to the same arrangement, all goods from Taiwan will only be traded by the Philippines.
Peace in the region. Win-win-win solution for China, Philippines, and Taiwan.
I wonder how the rest of the wirld will react? Is #Brunei going to attack us to set up a vassal state just like the did a few years before the Spaniards invaded the archipelago? Hmm…
