- Embed this notice@NonPlayableClown @dcc @p @jae I know a guy that used geothermal energy as a heating source for his house shortly after commies went away in Europe. It was a new technology back then. And the problem with it is that you effectively cool down the area around the "well" and 20 years later it no longer could heat his house, because the area cooled down too much.
You can always drill more wells and switch between them with some monitoring, but I don't know how effective that is in the long run. Nobody really tried it on a large scale yet. Or at least I don't know about it.
