@alex I'm using a custom back-end (or trying to ;-).

After login - where Bearer tokens are successfully used - Soapbox-fe calls /api/v1/timelines/home, /api/v1/markers, and others without the Bearer token.

Based on your initial reply I'll assume I'm doing something wrong to cause this and go from there. Thanks!
