@geerlingguy how was it even "open source", did they publish the Verilog source code of the chip or something?
They don't even understand the term.

If they mean "worth supporting opensource OSes for", then by any means, I, for one, never asked for drivers from any vendor. What is required on the other hand, regardless if they care or not, is proper documentation so *we* can write drivers ourselves.

But it seems people just forgot that's the norm.
