so they’re floating #trump running for a third term on the theory that 22nd amndmnt forbids 3 *consecutive* terms.

if he does that, the obvious person to run against him is Barack Obama (still 17 years younger). there's no argument that could allow trump to do it that doesn’t also allow Obama to.

it won't happen: trump won't be alive in four years, and if he is, 25th amndmnt will probably have been triggered.

but just making that counter-threat ought to shut it down.
