Timnit Gebru (she/her)Our institute was housed in another organization that decided to go through all the things detailed in the article, rather than allowing staff to take a clear stand against genocide. I found myself not eating while dealing with this, and spending my energy trying to figure out how I can try and stop the organization from making various decisions. One day, I realized that it was 5pm and I hadn’t eaten until then, which is right when I sent the board my resignation letter.
