Charlie Stross@joyce If you specifically want a writing device, you could do worse than buy a Pomera DM250 from Japan (via ebay or amazon.jp)—they're currently about £270 because the Yen is weak, and it's a dedicated typing machine that weighs 600 grams and runs for 20-25 hours on a charge. Laptop-sized keyboard, adequate screen, but no distractions and physically compact.
