AnarchoNinaWritesFrom a musical standpoint, Where The Birds Always Sing would fit in well on Disintegration; it's a lush, layered soundscape with an atmospheric arrangement, traditional hooks and guitar work for the Cure. There's even a hint of wind chimes; a Disintegration staple. Lyrically however the tack goes in a completely different direction, eschewing tragic romanticism for an expression of Smith's existentialist worldview. This subversion creates a mature, yet familiar sound.
