AnarchoNinaWritesOne of the more interesting tracks on the album to me is the rarely praised song Secrets. While I think there's a tendency to sort of lump this tune in with The Cure's "post-punk" phase, I think it's more accurate to describe it as "minimalist pop." Carried almost entirely by Gallup's bass work, guitar shimmers, and steady but constrained drumming, Smith's vocals on this track almost become a background instrument; in fact the echo is louder than the main vocal line.
