Auschwitz Memorial5 December 1943| A transfer transport of 1,000 prisoners (including 34 Soviet POWs) arrived at Auschwitz from the Flossenbürg camp. On the way, 4 prisoners escaped. Many others died.
The group was probably about to be murdered in gas chambers, but ultimately, the prisoners were placed in the BIIa section of Birkenau (quarantine camp). 827 prisoners & 34 Soviet POWs were registered, and 81 prisoners were reassigned their previous Auschwitz numbers
