One might think to juxtapose this with the people on the right making fun of the girl with the newly minted PhD is woke olfactory science.

I think they are certainly good to compare, but to me the main differences are
- no-one is trying to make her unemployable
- more generally, it's a systematic critique rather than an individual attack
- and thus, people don't seem to want to simply *destroy* her, but just have her do something useful
