I kind of think it helped that I waited to tell them I was getting my name changed until it was "yeah, I can't get the travel auth for our trip to the UK bc I'm prioritizing getting my passport updated before the new year, so I can put the right name on the travel auth"

but they've said they want to support me, and to be at my and @storm 's wedding when we finally get a civil ceremony together so I can be Canadian
