This is how an intact democracy should work. There is a power hungry politicans trying to undermine democratic rule by abusing their power and within a few hours he gets stopped by effective constitutional rights and powers and through checks and balance.

We are just that surprised because we are living in times where democeacies have become so unstable, that we fear that at any point the whole system might irreversibly break.
