True! Languages in the region are similar. I was reading earlier today about Austronesia theory, and it does seem the closest to what actually happened considering the liguistic similarities among others. When compared with European languages, the pronunciations and readings are often different, like the vowel "a" can either be /ey/ or /ah/ 😅😅 But for Austronesian languages, it's just /a/. (And even up north of Austronesian family, like Korea and Japan, similar vowel pronunciations and syllable readings. But Western languages are so different.)
