You can put the "dreadful news accounts I still want to follow" into a list and unfollow them.
Your main feed will be less depressing, and you can actively browse that list to opt-in to reading about how terrible the world is when you're ready.
Intersectionality is important, but you will not help anyone if you're burnt out from all the misery you're constantly exposed to.
