Fash-E :windmill_of_friendship: (fash-e@poa.st)'s status on Saturday, 30-Nov-2024 22:15:28 JSTFash-E :windmill_of_friendship: On this day in 1700, the 18 year old King of Sweden Charles XII, defeated the Russian Imperial army of 37,000 with a force of only 12,300 men outside the city of Narva. 9000 Russians died and another 20,000 surrendered, while Charles XII only lost 667 men. The battle was so devastating for the Russians that Peter the Great immediately sued for peace, which Charles XII refused.
