I actually totally agree, but I think that this concept of "democratization" is just "deskilling," and this process is already well underway. For example, my career started just before the SaaS managed cloud infrastructure era. Now, more developers do something like what we used to call (dev)ops, but that task increasingly involves paying a subscription fee to AWS and clicking around a UI. More developers can do it, though.

Whether or not it's a good thing is a separate issue.
